I am the author of two books of nonfiction—How to Write and Publish a Successful Children’s Book: Everything You Need to Know Explained Simply (Atlantic Publishing), a category finalist for the Indie Book Awards; and How to Publish A Kindle Book with Amazon.com: Everything You Need to Know Explained Simply (Atlantic Publishing)—and a book of poetry (Light and Trials of Light, Finishing Line Press). I founded Prick of the Spindle literary journal in 2007, and have edited all content, for both print and online content, since then. In 2010, I founded Aqueous Books, an independent publishing company, and have edited all publications from the company’s inception. From 2011-2016, I served as Senior Editor for a medical association management company. I am now a managing editor with Hoffman Media.

When I edit a client’s manuscript, I look at everything from the macro to the micro—structure, narrative flow, character development, and other big-picture items, in addition to grammar, spelling, punctuation, fact-checking, and formatting. I edit with a sensitivity toward retaining the author’s original voice and style, and strive to help the manuscript become the best version of itself. When contacting me for rates, please mention the manuscript’s genre (memoir, biography, novel, short story collection, etc.) and word/page count. Email me at cynthia [dot] reeser [at] gmail [dot] com.
